Business Development Manager

Age & Opportunity is expanding its Development team and has an exciting opportunity for a business development professional. We are a national NGO that inspires people to make choices that lead to fulfilling, healthy lives as we age. We are the leading organisation providing nationwide programmes for older people in the arts (the national Bealtaine Festival, Cultural Companions and the Azure programme), physical activity (the Go for Life programme) and active citizenship and lifelong learning (Changing Gears, Touchstone, Get Engaged and Creative Exchanges programmes), so that all older people can live a rich and varied life.

Business Development Manager (full-time, one year contract subject to funding)

Reporting directly to the CEO, the successful candidate will devise and implement a prospect development programme, establish, develop and manage strategic relationships with funders and corporates and plan and deliver new sources of funding and sponsorship for Age & Opportunity.

Applicants must have:

  • a degree-level qualification, preferably in a Business, Marketing or related field, and a minimum of three years proven track record in developing new business or raising funds in the commercial, arts and culture or charity sector.
  • Experience of planning and implementing successful new business campaigns
  • Experience of establishing, developing and managing strategic relationships with funders and corporates
  • Experience of developing compelling proposals for potential funders
